Sprint’s Galaxy Tab getting Gingerbread love on July 5th

If you still have a Galaxy Tab laying around while you are playing with the newer Galaxy Tab 10.1, you may want to pick it up again because Sprint is planning to grace it with some Gingerbread love on July 5th.

If you are a developer, you can head to Samsung’s Open Source Developers Center and grab the source code for the Galaxy Tab’s Gingerbread kernel, it is available under the file name “SPH-P100_OpenSouce_GB_Update.zip.” Other than bringing Android 2.3 to the “OG” Tab, the OTA update will also bring some enhancements to the tablet’s Bluetooth feature.

Sprint has also scheduled an update for the Samsung Transform bringing its firmware version to EF09, and a fix to PRL and Data Update Profile errors.
