Seido’s 3800mAh extended battery now available for Verizon Galaxy Nexus — adds bulk and drops NFC

Want to get extra usage out of your Verizon Galaxy Nexus? Then you might want to take a look at Seido’s newly released extended battery. With their new 3800mAh battery for the Galaxy Nexus, you will get more than double the usage time that you’re currently getting from the 4G LTE device.

Before you get all excited and run out to get one, you have to know two things about this battery:

  1. It will make your phone significantly thicker
  2. You will lose NFC support

If you go with Seido’s 3800mAh extended battery, you will add a significant amount of bulk to your Galaxy Nexus. If you don’t mind having a hunchback on your phone, then I guess the extra bulk wouldn’t matter to you. In addition to the hunch back, you will also lose NFC support on your phone. The NFC antenna on the Galaxy Nexus is located on the battery, and for some reason, Seido decided not to include it in this extended battery.

If you don’t mind extra bulk and not having NFC, you might want to take a look at Seido’s extended battery. It is currently available online for $69.99

That…is..ugulay. Extended battery by Samsung is good enough to me. I’d rather swap out my batteries than have that big ole bmx bike ramp on the back.
