Samsung announced yesterday that the Gear S smartwatch will launch on November 7 in the US. It can be purchased from AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and Best Buy for a possible price tag of $350. This watch runs on Samsung’s own Tizen OS and will pack a curved display and 3G cellular radios. This means that you can make calls, connect to the internet without the need of a phone.
I had the chance to check it out back in September and I must say that it is quite big compared to my Moto 360. However, the Gear S does things like texting and navigation on its own – unlike Android wear watches which rely on phones to do it.
As far as pricing is concerned, T-Mobile is showing $349.92 and $384 at Sprint with $0 down financing options. I suggest you take a look at it next week at your local Samsung Experience Shops (Best Buy). If you were looking for an autonomous smartwatch that can do things on its own, this is it.
