The Google/Motorola deal isn’t the only headline today because we have just learned that CyanogenMod‘s founder, Steve Kondik, has joined Samsung Mobile as a software engineer. Steve changed his Facebook work status to Samsung Mobile today. He also confirmed this new move in the comments section and made sure that everyone knows that Cyanogenmod isn’t “affiliated in any way with his employer.” The Korean manufacturer has already shown its love to the Android ROM genius earlier this summer by hooking him up with a Galaxy S II.
Cyanogenmod is one of the best custom Android Roms in the market and it recently just reached the 500k install mark. We cannot wait to see a Cyanogenmod-powered Samsung phone in the future, as you all know what Steve Kondik is capable of when it comes to cooking up the best Android ROMs. We want to congratulate him for his new job and we wish him good luck on “making Android more awesome.”
