Hoping to show consumers about the many uses of NFC, Samsung announced yesterday the release of TectTiles.These little tags can be programmed to execute specific actions with the use of NFC-enabled Android devices. The Samsung TecTiles will be launched along with the Galaxy S III and will be available in all four major U.S. carriers and other major retailers at the price tag of $15 for a pack of 5 tags.
In order to get the TecTiles to work, Samsung has also launched an application in the Play Store which allows you to program them to whatever action you desire. You can set the tag to turn on Wi-Fi, open a web page, turn off the ringer, launch an application, send a text message, etc..The possibilities are endless.
