Samsung announces the Galaxy Player 70 Plus, a personal media player with a 5-inch display and dual-core CPU

Samsung must be doing something right with their line of personal media players, because they’ve gone ahead and released another one! Today, Samsung announced the Galaxy Player 70 Plus, another personal media player that does everything an Android-powered Samsung Galaxy phone does, except for make calls.

At the moment, the Galaxy Player 70 Plus is only available in Korea. It features a 5-inch WVGA (800 x 480) TFT LCD display, a 1GHz dual-core processor, Android 2.3. Gingerbread with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top, microSD card slot, a 5-megapixel camera, a 2500mAh battery. All of this is packed into a device that is 11.9mm thick and weighs 186g.

The Galaxy Player 70 Plus will be available in 16 and 32GB models. The 16GB model will retail for 339,000 won (about $350 USD) and the 32GB model will retail for 469,000 won (about $410 USD).

News of the Galaxy Player 70 Plus comes just a few days after Mobile World Congress, where Samsung announced the Galaxy S WiFi 4.2, a PMP with a 4.2-inch display and a single-core processor.
