It is not a secret that some HTC One X devices out there are suffering from hardware Wi-Fi issues. Folks who own the device say that Wi-Fi signal diminishes when held on a certain way. After receiving a slew of complaints, HTC finally acknowledged that the HOX and only the Tegra 3 models are suffering from the issue. AT&T and Rogers One X variants have reportedly been spared and unfortunately we cannot confirm that it is true.
“After investigating isolated reports of WiFi connectivity issues in the HTC One X, we have identified a fix that strengthens the area of the phone around the WiFi antennae connection points. While many customers have not experienced any problems with signal strength, we have taken immediate steps to implement a solution in our production process to prevent this issue from happening in the future. HTC is committed to making sure every customer has a great experience and we apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused while we conducted a thorough investigation.”
HTC advises affected customers to call customer service to troubleshoot the Wi-Fi issue and in case you are, they may ask you to send your One X for repair or simply take it back to where you bought it from. If you are an AT&T or a Rogers HOX owner, make sure to let us know if you’re experiencing the same issue by drooping a comment below.
