Another day, another Droid Turbo Leak. This time around we have marketing materials coming to us from the good folks at Android Central. We pretty much are aware of all of its features and release details but it won’t hurt to re-confirm things. The Droid Turbo is pretty much a Moto X on steroids.
This is the full spec sheet for the Motorola Droid Turbo ( as far as we know):
- 5.2-inch QHD AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440
- Android KitKat
- 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor
- 3GB of RAM
- 21-megapixel rear camera w/ dual flash
- 32GB of internal storage
- 3,900 mAh battery
- Wireless Charing
- 4G LTE, XLTE, WiFi, NFC, VoLTE
A cool new feature that we didn’t know about is how the Turbo’s body is water resistant, capable of surviving “everyday spills and 20 minutes in a downpour.” The humongous 3,900 mAh battery is said to give the phone over 2 days of use. To complement the great battery life, the Droid Turbo will come with the Turbo Charger which will give the phone 8 hours of use in less than 15 minutes of charging time. And let’s not forget about wireless charging folks – Holy cow.
On the software side of things, the handset will come preloaded with most of the Moto X features like Moto Voice, Moto Actions, Moto Assist and Moto Display. In addition, the Droid Turbo will have a specific sharing feature called Zap. With it you can tell your phone to ‘Zap your screen’ and it will activate Chromecast, play something for example. It also allows location-based media sharing and some other things.
As far as pricing is concerned, we suspect Verizon to sell it for around $199-$249 on contract. The carrier is going to make things official comes October 28. If this phone isn’t the ultimate powerhouse Android phone (wish the display was bigger), then we don’t know what is. Do you agree?
