by Zack NebbakiMay 3, 2011

As we reported two days ago, The new Atrix 4G update is being deployed as we are writing this article but there is no official announcement from Motorola. Atrix 4G users from all over the country have reported receiving the famous 4.1.83 update for their devices which was intended to enable HSUPA and to upgrade Android 2.2.2. People are seeing improved upload speeds ranging from 1Mbps to 1.5Mbps after updating their phone by either flashing it with the update SBF or just downloading it straight from Motorola.

Here is how you manually look for the update:

  1. Select the Settings icon in the main menu.
  2. Select “About phone”.
  3. Select “System updates”.
  4. Select “Download”.
  5. After the software is downloaded, select “Install”.
  6. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
  7. Your phone is now updated with v4.1.83 software.

Motorola Advises Atrix 4G users to have at least 50% of battery life and to be connected to a Wi-Fi network.

What I would do is to reboot your phone at first and then see what happens. People have reporting having issues with their banking apps as well.

Updated and no big improvements. DL about 1.6mbps and UL got faster about 3 times to 1.1mbps.

      Dissapointing 4G network.
