Well it didn’t take long for the cool guys from the XDA forums to root the newest Atrix 4G update that was released today. The user “ShawnBunk” says in his post “The new update blocks the current ways of attaining root for the device. However, if you have root before you update, it is possible to retain this during the upgrade.”
This root is directed to the Atrix owners who already had rooted their device with the 4.126 version and is designed to retain the root. Let’s hope that a root for the 4.157 update will be available for those who are still running stock firmware. You can find ShawnBunk’s post here.
