LG makes a G Watch R product movie, reminds us that it doesn’t have a sensor bar

The Moto 360, the only round Android smartwatch out now, is going to see some competition from the upcoming LG Watch R. One of its biggest pet peeves has been its battery life which is all over the place. It also has an ambient sensor which annoyingly blocks the bottom section on the watch –

LG made a 2-minute ‘product movie’ of the G Watch R. In it they tell us things like their smartwatch is ‘The perfect Circle,’ ‘Timeless Piece’ and ‘The World’s 1st Full Circle P-OLED Display.’ Unlike the Moto 360, it actually looks like a regular watch and will probably appeal to those of who looking for that style.

Perhaps what will make the G Watch R stand out is its battery life. We believe it will be better than the Moto watch. That is, thanks to the power-efficient Snapdragon 400.

  • “What do you guys think?”

I think I’d rather have am ambient light sensor than be forced to manually adjust my watch’s brightness every time I go outdoors.

How about putting brightness on auto?

      • You can’t set the brightness to auto unless a device has an ambient light sensor to detect the surrounding brightness level, and of the released-or-announced Android Wear watches, only the Moto 360 and the Sony Smartwatch 3 have one.
