Intel-powered Lenovo K800 gets benchmarked, makes us drool

Take a look at these benchmark scores from the Intel-powered Lenovo K800. The phone, which is going to be the first to run on an Intel processor, is going to be released in China in a couple of months. The benchmarks were obtained by the fine folks at Engadget.

According to Quadrant benchmarks, the single-core Lenovo K800 performs about the same as the dual-core 1.4GHz Samsung Galaxy Note, scoring a whopping 3,850 (compared to 3,854 for the Galaxy Note). Two phones that outperform the K800 in their tests were the HTC One S and HTC One X, both which run Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon S4 processor.

In the SunSpider 0.91 Javascript test, the Lenovo K800 destroyed the competition, including the HTC One X and HTC One S.

Intel is serious about developing processors for mobile devices and they’re showing it with the performance power of the Medfield chip. I remember the first time I saw the reference design phone on display at CES earlier this year. The presentation on the phone simply blew me away! Check out the video below to see what I’m talking about. Simply amazing performance, on a single-core!
