Rumors suggest the inclusion of a 13-megapixel Duo camera instead of the 4MP Ultrapixel found in the original M8. HTC will keep the 5-megapixel front camera which is great, you guessed it, for selfies. The same camera setup is also found in the newly released HTC One E8 and Butterfly 2.
Based on the press shot above, you can see that the HTC One M8 Eye has the same design as the OG M8. They also share similar features such as the Snapdragon 801, 5-inch 1080p display and Androi 4.4 KitKat. Those of you who were expecting more, will have to wait for the beastly HTC One Max. GSMArena points out that this new device could be the a quick a quick fix to the shortcomings of the One M8 – just like what the HTC One X+ was for the 2012 HTC One. And they have a point.
We’ll found out more from the Taiwanese company next week. Stay tuned!
