HTC confirms that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is coming to the One X, One XL, and One S

For those of who were wondering if your HTC One X, One XL, and One S would be getting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, you no longer have to wonder. Although it was guaranteed that HTC would update its 2012 flagship devices to Android 4.1, they still went ahead and confirm to every one of their plans.

Yesterday, we found out that Australian carrier Telstra posted information on the Jelly Bean update for its One XL and One phones, saying simply that it would be updated and that they were waiting for HTC to to release the update so it could be tested.

The guys over at Engadget got in touch with HTC to find out more about Jelly Bean on the new One series; here is what they got back from HTC:

“We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android. At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean.”

All versions of the above phones (global and US carriers) will be receiving the update.

Missing from the list is the HTC One V, the low end phone from the One series. Unfortunately, it looks like it will remain with ICS.
