Along with ‘how to root your Nexus 6,’ we wanted to show you how to get rid of the AT&T boot animation (assuming you bought the phone from AT&T). The process is pretty simple and requires that you have root access. You also need to have a file explorer like Root Explorer or Astro Manager to access to the files we need to remove. Once you install it, follow these instructions:
- Open the file manager (with root permissions)
- Go to “oem” and select “Media“
- Make sure sou have “r/w” enabled
- Remove or rename the file “bootanimation.zip“
- Reboot your Nexus 6
