Those of you who were hoping to walk into a Verizon Wireless store on July 10 to get a Samsung Galaxy S III might have to wait just a few more days. According to Verizon’s own site, the Samsung Galaxy S III won’t be available until July 12 now. An ad on their site for the phone now says that the phone will be available for purchase on July 12, instead of the original July 10 launch date that they announced to the world via press release last week.
For those who pre-ordered the device, you shouldn’t have to worry; Verizon has already started to ship out pre-orders and some lucky customers have already reported receiving their Galaxy S III.
There’s no news as to why the launch date on the site was changed to the 12. Who knows, maybe they’re trying to reinforce the locked and encrypted bootloader on the Galaxy S III. Even better, maybe they’re trying to unlock it, and make their customers happy (yeah right. That makes too much sense).
Whatever the reason, it looks like we’ll have to wait just a few more days to get our hands on the Verizon Galaxy S III.
