Hands on with the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 and 5.0

Besides announcing the Galaxy Tab 8.9, Samsung also announced a set of portable media players (PMP), the Galaxy Player 4.0 and Galaxy Player 5.0. Both Galaxy Player 4.0 and 5.0 will be available on October 16 across the country. The 4-inch model will cost you $230. The slightly bigger 5-inch model will cost you $270.

You can think of the Galaxy Players as competitors to the popular iPod Touch line of portable media players. It’s basically everything you like about Samsung devices running Android, except that it doesn’t make calls. These two players are WiFi only and don’t require a contract or data plan to own.

Use them to store your music, videos, and pictures; play games, chat, surf the web, and more. Check out the pictures and hands-on videos below.
