Google Voice MMS now works on AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint but not Verizon

I must say that I text more with my Google Voice number than with my regular phone number, and my experience has been great. However, it lacked the MMS feature for AT&T folks like myself. MMS stands for Multimedia Messaging Service and allows you to send pictures and videos. Google’s Alex Wiesen announced yesterday that MMS is now enabled for over 100 North American carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Bell Canada, Telus and Sprint except for Verizon.

We’re not really surprised about the exclusion of Verizon. They’re known for taking their time with anything Android-related, just ask any Samsung Nexus owner out there and they’ll tell you. However, it is not too late for them to join the MMS party. Mr. Wiesen dropped a Post Scriptum at the end of his Google+ post saying ‘ If you’re a carrier, and you want to enable MMS support for Google Voice, please let us know. We’re big fans of text messaging interoperability.’ Big Red, it is not too late…
