A company called Git Media is getting ready to bring two Honeycomb tablets to the market, and they’re doing things a little different, for those of us who want choices when it comes to processors.
Git Media announced that it will be releasing two Honeycomb tablets — the Git Surge and Git Pro. Both of these tablets will cost the same and have pretty much the same specs, except when it comes to processors. The Git Surge will be powered by the industry standard NVIDIA dual-core Tegra 2 processor while its brother, the Git Pro, will be powered a 1GHz Samsung Exynos dual-core processor. Here are the remaining specs for both tablets:
Git Surge and Git Pro Specs
- 10.1-inch displays
- Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) OS
- 1GB of RAM
- 250GB internal storage
- 5-megapixel rear-facing camera
- 2-megapixel front-facing camera
- USB and Mini USB ports, Micro SD
- Wi-FI, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G (optional)
The most impressive thing on that spec list could be the hard drive. Yup, you read that right. These two tablets will come with a massive 250GB hard drive, just like the upcoming Archos tablets, the Archos 80 G9 and the Archos 101 G9.
The Git Surge and Git Pro will sell for $479 each. Git Media will begin pre-selling these tablets on their website. If you pre-order online, you will get a complementary gift of your choice: either a leather case and wireless Bluetooth keyboard or a 3-year extended warranty, both valued at $100.
