Google has finally come out of the dark and announced that they will not abandon their licensees, referring to HTC and their current fierce battle against Apple. Eric Schmidt expressed that he sees the Taiwanese phone manufacturer wining the case against Apple even tough an ITC Judge has already ruled that they were guilty of two patent infringements.
We have seen an explosion of Android devices entering the market and, because of our successes, competitors are responding with lawsuits as they cannot respond through innovations
I’m not too worried about this
So far though, Schmidt hasn’t disclose how Google is going to help HTC in its battle. In the case of the Taiwanese phone maker loosing its fight against “greedy” Apple, Schmidt was also asked about what how his company will react, he simply said: “we will make sure they don’t lose, then.”
