Despite Android’s dominance in the smartphone market, Apple’s sales figures are pretty impressive

I know that this is an Android blog, and that Apple and iOS are the competition, but numbers like this simply can’t be ignored. Yes, Google’s Android OS is doing great as a whole, but there isn’t one single Android OEM that currently pulls the numbers that Apple and its iPhone/iPad generates.

During their first fiscal quarter, Apple as a company generated a record $46.33 billion in revenue and $13.06 billion in net profits. When it comes to items directly competing against Google’s Android OS, Apple managed to ship over 37 million iPhones (which include the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, and iPhone 3G). Tablet wise, over 15.4 million iPad tablets were shipped.

All of their shipments doubled compared their fiscal fourth quarter. During their Q4, they managed to ship 17.1 million iPhones and 11.1 million iPads.

Despite Apple’s amazing numbers, Android continues to dominate in the smartphone market. As an Android fan, I’m proud to say that I will never be an Apple statistic, never!
