[CES 2014] AT&T to exclusively carry the ASUS PadFone X, a combo of a phone and a tablet

ASUS announced today that AT&T will the exclusive partner to carry its PadFone X. To those of you who haven’t heard about the PadFone. It is a combination of a phone and tablet which acts as a dock and display. It has launched outside the U.S. a while ago and it is finally coming as an AT&T-branded device.

The PadFone X is described an Android device with a 5-inch FHD display powered with Android 4.4 KitKat sporting AT&T’s LTE bands. It is needed to activate a 9-inch tablet which packs a Full HD display. ASUS has been quiet about what’s under the hood of the Padfone X. It’ll probably have the Snapdragon 800 which is compatible with Ma Bell’s LTE network. Additionally, this combo is said to support VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) and HD Voice, a technology that is still in development.
