AT&T HTC One X receives OTA update to Android 4.0.4, yanks annoying menu bar

The HTC One X for AT&T is definitely one our favorite Android phones for this year. While we love everything about the phone, one little, yet annoying, feature which is that large black menu bar wouldn’t go away. If you’re in the same boat and couldn’t wait for it to disappear, you should know that an update that is currently rolling out to HOX has taken care of that.

Along with yanking the menu bar, the 270MB OTA update has brought build number 2.20.502.7, Android 4.0.4, bug fixes and performance enhancements to the One X. Just like previous updates, expect to lose root access to the handset. If you don’t want to risk it, we advise you to sit tight and wait for a root method from our beloved developers.
