Alpha release of CyanogenMod 7 for HTC Sensation and HTC EVO 3D now available

HTC Evo 3D and Sensation users, there’s some good news for you. CyanogenMod 7 is now available for your devices. Before you get all excited, this is an Alpha build, and there’s still some things to get worked out. On the HTC Sensation, the following bugs exist:

  • Recording 1080P video for a couple of minutes causes a soft reboot
  • Misc minor scaling issues
  • Skype requires a speaker toggle for audio to work correctly
  • WiFi calling FCs on boot for EU Sensations
  • Bluetooth headset has not been tested

On the HTC EVO 3D, the following bugs exist:

  • Bluetooth doesn’t work
  • Netflix has a security issue
  • Wimax isn’t functioning
  • Keyboard is massive (use an alternative keyboard from the market)
  • Taking 3D videos and images currently don’t work
  • 3D pictures do not display in 3D
  • FFC takes pics upside down
  • Battery gauge not working properly

With that said, if you’re feeling adventurous and willing to test things out (in the name of Android and science!) then go ahead and install the alpha release of CM7 on your HTC Sensation or EVO 3D. This will pretty much be like installing any other CM7 builds: root, install Clockwork Recovery, backup, wipe, install.
