HTC and Sprint announced today the release of the Bolt, a phone that pretty much looks like an enlarged HTC 10 with the exception of some new features. [Review] Google Pixel XL

You have seen the MANY commercials. Probably plenty of online ads. You may have even walked into a Verizon store or Best Buy and seen it in person. The Google iPhone killer. The Nexus predecessor. The Pixel XL.

Let me address a few elephants in the room right away…

Yes. It looks like an iPhone from the front. It is priced exactly the same as the iPhone. It even comes in the same 2 sizes as the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

No. It is not “Only on Verizon”. It is available unlocked directly from Google and supports all 4 major carriers in the US.

No. It is not waterproof and who [...]

[Review] Speck Presidio Grip For The Google Pixel XL

If you are looking for a “preminum” case to match your high end Pixel devices, look no more. The Speck Presidio Grip is the case you should be buying. I have been using it for the past few days and let me tell you that I enjoyed it a lot.

The Presidio Grip is unlike some of the old school Speck CandyShell bulky cases. It is thin. Ok. It is on the thin side. It is not as thin as a Spigen rugged armor case but it is pretty close. Speck claims that this case can withstand falls of 10 feet thanks to its IMPACTIUM shock-absorbing barrier. They also mention that it can “absorb 52% more shock from impact than traditional TPU rubber.”

On both sides of [...]

[Review] Lander’s Neve USB type C Cable: designed to last

It is a known fact that not all charging cables are made the same. What I mean by that is not all of them are created equal. Most of our phones came with the usual flimsy USB cables which wear out within months of use.

Worry no more because a company called Lander wants to change that. They’re selling a cable called the Neve. I happened to have the USB C model which works awesomely with my Pixel XL.

The Neve cable is made out of nylon which helps avoid tangling. It also has reflective material called Illumiweave to help you finding in a dark place. What I actually think is really cool are the “Everpull” connectors which are designed to [...]

[Review] Google Pixel XL Incipio Cases

The Google Pixel is a hit not only with Android fans but also with the average consumer. With a price tag ranging between $650 to around $900, having a case is probably a great idea to protect your expensive gadget. Picking the right case can be daunting task. Thankfully, the folks at Incipio have a whole lineup depending on the lever of coverage/protection you may want to get for your Pixel phone. The DualPro sells for $29.99, the Octane is $24.99 while the Carnaby is $34.99.

Incipio carries 3 cases for the Pixel phones which are the DualPro, Octane and my favorite Carnaby. I was able to get a hold of the first 2 and did the following unboxing:

Hope this helped you [...]

[Rant] AT&T takes the liberty to swap Galaxy Note 7 retail box with their ugly, flimsy packaging

As you all know, the Galaxy Note 7 is not a cheap phone by any means. Sitting at close to a $1000 with taxes, it is one of the most expensive Android phones around. With a price tag that high, you’d expect to get the phone with whatever Samsung decided to package it in. They usually use a really nice and durable box with their logo on it and yes, it does look premium as it should be (see picture below).

On Monday, I picked up my AT&T Black Onyx Note 7 to find out that it is packaged in the ugly-flimsy carrier blue box. The phone is probably safer being on its own than inside it.

I call this practice bullshit. For $930, I expect to get an original [...]

T-Mobile gets rid of the HTC 10

The HTC 10 is definitely one of my favorite Android phones for 2016. HTC upped the bar and actually put a great phone together. I reviewed it a few months back and was, and still impressed by it. The phone isn’t perfect by any means but it offers an awesome experience for those looking for a stock-like software and top of the line hardware.

As of today, T-Mobile quietly took the HTC 10 off his website and probably did the same in their brick and mortar stores. You don’t have to be a genius to know that it has not been selling great for Big Magenta. AT&T avoided selling it  from the get-go, maybe Tmo should have done the same 2 months ago. The only HTC phone [...]

[Review] A quick look at the Tudia cases for the Oneplus 3

In this world, there are people who use cases for their phone and there are people who do not. I consider myself a part of the first group. I hate getting dings on my phones. Today, I am taking a look at a couple of Tudia cases: The Tudia Merge and the Tudia Arch.

Tudia Arch

The Arch is considered an “Ulra-Slim” case. It is made out of a “high Quality Thermoplastic Polyurethane TPU rubberized gel silicone” according to Tudia. It offers a soft touch finish which gives you a better grip of the phone.

The Arch case wraps nicely around the Oneplus 3 covering all of the edges and camera bump without adding bulk. The volume and power buttons cutouts [...]
